Free coffee, tea helps bring health-care workers from Seattle to B.C.
British Columbia's health-care recruitment initiative will feature a coffee truck in Seattle, offering free coffee to medical professionals on June 18 and 19, 2025. Health Minister Josie Osborne highlighted the importance of engaging directly with health-care workers to showcase the advantages of living and working in the province. The truck will be located near health-care facilities, allowing brand ambassadors to provide detailed information about job opportunities and assistance for relocation. Since the launch of the U. S.
marketing campaign on June 2, 2025, more than 1,600 potential recruits, including 714 doctors and 554 nurses, have shown interest in moving to B. C. This initiative is part of the Team B. C. approach, which collaborates with health authorities and other partners to address staffing shortages in critical areas.
Health Match BC will offer personalized support to help ease the transition for those considering the move. The campaign aims to fill positions in high-demand fields such as cancer care and emergency departments. Targeting Seattle is strategic due to the significant interest generated since the campaign's announcement in March 2025.
