Plan your visit to Pipi7yekwJoffre Lakes Park
Pipi7íyekw/Joffre Lakes Park will open backcountry camping reservations on June 17, 2025, at 7 a. m. for stays starting June 28. Throughout July and August, the park will allow visitors but require day-use passes for adults and youth over 12. These passes, implemented in 2021, enhance parking and reduce crowding.
From June 13-27, the park will close for recovery, enabling the Líl̓wat Nation and N’Quatqua to engage in cultural practices. During this closure, day-use passes will be temporarily unavailable. The park's management emphasizes cooperation with local Indigenous communities to protect sensitive areas and support cultural practices. A mutual agreement for a seasonal closure of about 60 days was reached in spring 2024, with final dates to be announced. Visitors are encouraged to check the park's web page for the latest updates on reservations and passes.
