Long-term repairs begin on Highway 97 at North Beach site
Emil Anderson Construction Inc. will commence stabilization work on Highway 97 on November 3, 2025, following a rockslide at North Beach. The traffic changes will involve new line painting and the installation of cones to manage vehicle flow, remaining in place until spring 2027. Intermittent highway closures may occur during weekdays from 9 a. m.
to 3 p. m. , limited to two closures per day lasting no longer than 20 minutes. Site preparation includes rock scaling and controlled blasting, essential for ensuring the road's safety and integrity. Work hours are set for Monday to Friday from 7 a.
m. to 5 p. m. , with some potential weekend work. No construction will take place on holidays or long weekends, minimizing impact during peak travel times.
