Roll up your sleeves, B.C., the 2025-26 vaccination campaign is here
British Columbia's 2025-26 immunization campaign encourages individuals to protect against influenza and COVID-19 as respiratory virus season begins. Dr. Martin Lavoie, deputy provincial health officer, highlights the importance of vaccination and preventive measures like staying home when sick. Vaccination is recommended for everyone six months and older, particularly for those at higher risk, which includes seniors, pregnant individuals, and healthcare workers. Notifications for vaccinations began on October 7, with appointments available from October 14, 2025.
As of October 19, nearly 275,000 people have received the influenza vaccine, a notable increase from the previous year’s campaign. Approximately 215,000 individuals have also received the updated COVID-19 vaccine. The campaign aligns with national recommendations and aims to safeguard vulnerable populations while preventing strain on the healthcare system. Vaccines are available for free at health authority clinics, over 1,200 pharmacies, and some primary-care providers' offices.
