Seniors in Maple Ridge will benefit from nearly 100 new affordable homes

Construction has commenced on 98 affordable rental homes for seniors in Maple Ridge, aimed at supporting low to moderate income residents. Minister Christine Boyle highlighted the government’s commitment to providing dignified living options for seniors. The project receives financial backing of $16. 1 million from the Community Housing Fund and $34. 9 million in construction financing, reflecting a significant investment in senior housing.

In partnership with New Vista Society, the development will include one- and two-bedroom units designed for accessibility and social interaction. Parliamentary Secretary Susie Chant remarked on the project's importance in fostering community connections for seniors. The homes will be equipped with amenities to reduce isolation and promote active living. Since 2017, the Province has delivered over 93,600 homes, with more than 500 in Maple Ridge alone. The completed homes are projected to be available by 2027, with application details to be announced closer to completion.
