The North Bend City Council has made a significant move towards the development of the Meadowbrook Farm Prairie Loop Trail by unanimously approving funding for its design. This decision, made during a recent meeting, includes an amendment to a King County Parks Capital Grant and a contract with J. A. Brennan for design services, capped at $499,976. Councilmember Heather Koellen emphasized the project's long-awaited nature, expressing her hope for its success.

The approved amendment will ensure comprehensive design services are funded and set the stage for a 'shovel-ready' project. Future grant applications for construction will be led by the City of Snoqualmie, given the trail's location within its limits. The council's actions indicate a strong commitment to moving forward with the project, which aims to enhance recreational opportunities and preserve the natural character of Meadowbrook Farm. Councilmember Mark Joselyn highlighted the importance of persistence in advancing the project. The trail is expected to provide essential community access and contribute positively to the local environment.
