North Bend Railway Crossing update SR 202 road closure scheduled for November 25 grinding, paving

North Bend, WALocal News

The City of North Bend will close SR 202/Bendigo Boulevard on November 25 from 7 a. m. to 7 p. m. for railway crossing grinding and paving.

This closure is part of the Northwest Railway Museum’s Railway Crossing Capital Project, which received a $4. 8 million grant from the Washington State Department of Transportation. The project aims to enhance safety and travel quality at four railway crossings with new infrastructure, including concrete panels, tracks, crossing gates, signals, and cantilevered flashing lights. Additionally, lane closures will occur on November 20 and 21 while crews from contractor Stacy Witbeck construct curb and gutter in the same area. The city recognizes the inconvenience caused by the work and appreciates residents' patience as crews complete the project.

The four crossings being improved include SR 202/Bendigo Boulevard, Main Avenue S, NW 8th Street near Alm Way, and North Bend Way near Tollgate Park. The tracks have been relocated approximately 14 feet south along McClellan Street to accommodate future parking improvements. For comments or questions, residents can contact Capital Projects and Grant Manager Daniel Marcinko via email or phone.
