North Bend, WALocal News

The City of North Bend and the Northwest Railway Museum are collaborating on the Railway Crossing Capital Project, which aims to improve four railway crossings with federal funding. Scheduled road closures include NW 8th Street from 7 p. m. November 9 to 5 a. m.

November 13, and North Bend Way from 7 p. m. November 13 to 5 a. m. November 17, 2025.

Crews from contractor Stacy Witbeck will work around the clock to expedite the project, with clearly marked detours and messaging boards set up in advance. So far, two crossings—SR 202/Bendigo Boulevard and Main Avenue S—have been completed, enhancing safety with new concrete panels, tracks, and signals. Funded by a $4. 8 million grant from the Washington State Department of Transportation, the project aims to improve travel quality and safety. The tracks between SR 202/Bendigo Boulevard and Main Avenue have been relocated to accommodate future parking enhancements.

Community members can reach out to Capital Projects and Grant Manager Daniel Marcinko for inquiries. The city will continue to provide updates as the project progresses.
