Applications now open for the North Bend Citizens Academy

The City of North Bend is now accepting applications for its 2026 Citizens Academy, an initiative designed to engage residents in understanding local government. This eight-week interactive program, starting February 2 and concluding with a recognition event on April 7, 2026, will cover key areas such as administration, finance, and public safety. Participants will benefit from hands-on experiences, including guided tours of parks, Eastside Fire and Rescue, and the Wastewater Treatment Plant. The program is free for residents aged 16 and older, with a maximum capacity of 25 participants to ensure a quality experience. Priority in the application process will be given to those living within city limits, although individuals from nearby areas are encouraged to apply.

Applications will be accepted beginning November 6, 2025, until the course reaches capacity. This initiative aims to foster civic engagement and strengthen connections between residents and city officials. Interested applicants can find the application form on the City’s website.
