2025 Police Services

North Bend, WALocal News

North Bend's City Council approved a motion to negotiate a new interlocal agreement with the King County Sheriff's Office for police services starting in April 2026. This decision follows the expiration of North Bend's current contract with Snoqualmie at the end of 2024, with a short-term renewal extending services through May 2025. North Bend's payment to Snoqualmie totaled $2. 51 million in 2024 and is set at $2. 83 million for 2025.

Snoqualmie's proposed charges for continued police services in 2025 are $4. 05 million. The evaluation process for police service options involved a request for proposals from both Snoqualmie and the Sheriff's Office. The city also considered the costs of establishing its own police department based on studies from the Center for Public Safety Management and Integrus Architecture. Long-term financial sustainability and public safety are critical for North Bend's community livability.

The city's decision reflects a strategic move toward ensuring efficient policing services while managing expenditures effectively.
