City Council approves a new ILA for Police Services with City of Snoqualmie through March 31, 2026

North Bend City Council voted unanimously on September 16, 2025, to authorize a new Police Services Interlocal Agreement (ILA) with Snoqualmie. This agreement follows a similar unanimous approval by the Snoqualmie City Council on September 15, 2025. Under the ILA, Snoqualmie will dismiss a lawsuit against North Bend and transition police services from the Snoqualmie Police Department to the King County Sheriff’s Office by April 1, 2026. Mayor Mary Miller described the decision as a significant moment in local history, emphasizing the importance of resident safety and financial sustainability. The ILA includes terms that provide economic and service level certainty for both cities during the transition.

Mayor Pro Tem Mark Joselyn acknowledged the lengthy process leading to this decision, which was based on thorough research and consideration.
