King County Search and Rescue Association shares presentation on life-saving public service
King County Search and Rescue Association (KCSARA) comprises nine specialized units dedicated to wilderness rescues, urban missing persons cases, and public education. Since 2020, Seattle Mountain Rescue has been active in North Bend, providing vital support near popular hiking trails. In the past three years, KCSARA has conducted 483 missions in King County, highlighting the commitment of its 600 registered Emergency Worker volunteers. Mayor Miller acknowledged the invaluable service provided by KCSARA, which relies entirely on donations and volunteer efforts. The organization encourages community involvement through volunteering and sharing safety messages on social media.
KCSARA's operations exemplify the spirit of community service, with volunteers ready to respond at any time. They have an average of 900 to 1,000 missions annually across Washington State, showcasing the ongoing need for such services.
