Quarterly Message from Mayor Miller
North Bend councilmembers unanimously approved a new interlocal agreement to transition police services from the Snoqualmie Police Department to the King County Sheriff’s Office, effective April 2026. This agreement, supported by extensive public meetings, aims to ensure a safe and secure transition while maintaining high-quality police services for residents. Mayor Miller emphasized the significance of community involvement and urged residents to attend City Council meetings to witness the ongoing support initiatives. Following Chief Ben Lane's retirement, Eastside Fire and Rescue appointed Assistant Chief Will Aho as the new Fire Chief, ensuring continuity in emergency services. In local park developments, Dahlgren Family Park now includes interpretive signs highlighting the Snoqualmie Tribe's history and its connection to the Snoqualmie River.
The park features a canoe play structure painted with Tribal imagery, enhancing cultural education. Additionally, Si View Metropolitan Park District announced a six-acre land donation from the Snoqualmie Valley Riding Club, improving access to outdoor spaces. These initiatives reflect North Bend's commitment to community engagement and public safety.
