Moscow Tree Commission Celebrates Arbor Day
The Moscow Tree Commission will celebrate Arbor Day on April 25, 2025, by planting five new trees in Berman Creekside Park. The event, scheduled from 1:15 PM to 2:15 PM, will feature the planting of three redbud and two tricolor beech trees and is open to the public at no cost. Families are encouraged to attend, and with limited parking available, walking, biking, or carpooling is recommended. Following a brief ceremony at the picnic shelter, attendees will assist students from Paradise Creek Regional High School and the Rotary Club of Moscow in planting the trees. Adults can also receive free seedlings of bristlecone pine, Lewis syringa, and northern catalpa while supplies last.
Arbor Day celebrates the significance of trees, and the City of Moscow aims to foster a safe and attractive urban forest through this event. The Moscow Tree Commission's efforts demonstrate a commitment to community forestry and environmental stewardship. This initiative not only enhances local green spaces but also engages the community in sustainable practices.
