Moscow Contemporary (MosCo) Presents Finding Fires Form, New Work by Sasha Michelle White and Michelle Robinson

Moscow, IDLocal News

"Finding Fire’s Form," an exhibit at Moscow Contemporary, will open on April 8, 2025, featuring the works of Sasha Michelle White and Michelle Robinson. This collaboration investigates the multifaceted nature of fire in shaping landscapes, particularly in the aftermath of the 2021 Bootleg fire in Oregon. The exhibition includes a variety of artistic expressions, from photographs to textiles, that highlight the interconnectedness of ecological and social narratives surrounding fire. An afternoon talk by White and an evening reception will facilitate community engagement and dialogue. Roger Rowley, the executive director of MosCo, notes that the impact of fire is now felt nationwide, necessitating a shift in how society coexists with fire.

White's background in environmental studies and Robinson's extensive experience in animation and visual arts enrich the exhibition's depth. Their combined expertise invites viewers to reflect on the complexities of loss, protection, and renewal in fire-adapted landscapes. This event underscores MosCo's mission to serve as a premier artist-run organization, fostering a vibrant arts community in Idaho.
