Pine View Addition Proceeds After Easement Vacation Vote
The Moscow Transportation Commission voted Thursday to send a request to the City Council to vacate a right-of-way, facilitating the Pine View Addition development. The City Council previously approved the addition in May 2024, located east of Moser Street. Idaho law mandates that existing easements, such as the right-of-way extending from Moser Street, must be vacated before the street and lot plat can be finalized. The right-of-way, currently a gravel driveway, provides access to two properties, and access will remain as new streets will follow much of the easement route. This move is significant for local growth and development as it paves the way for 40 new homes.
The commission's unanimous vote signals support for the ongoing expansion of residential areas in Moscow. City officials emphasize that the addition will enhance housing availability in the area, addressing local demand. As the project progresses, the council will review the developer's plans to ensure compliance with community standards.
