Playfield Lighting, All-Season Facilities, Restrooms Top Commission Wish List
The City of Moscow Parks and Recreation Commission established priorities for its Capital Improvement Plan, focusing on sports field lighting and expansions of indoor recreational facilities. Key proposals include enhancements to the Hamilton Indoor Recreation Center and restroom improvements at Lola Clyde Park and the Eggan Youth Center. The commission will present its annual report to the City Council on October 6, which will feature usage statistics for local recreational facilities. The report will also emphasize pollinator plantings supported by the Bee City USA program, with a planting event at Berman Creekside Park set for October 18. Additional proposed projects include community gardens and new recreational facilities for older children.
RSVPs for the Palouse Pickleball Club’s fundraiser, Pickleball Palousa, are due by October 1. New commissioner Emily Klarquist has joined the commission, which will reconvene on October 23. These efforts aim to enhance community engagement and recreational opportunities in Moscow.
