Man killed in unsolved south Minneapolis murder was community fixture DJ Juice
Justin “Juice” Marshall, a beloved DJ and community staple, was shot and killed in south Minneapolis early Friday morning on his 37th birthday. Police found him near the intersection of Franklin and Lyndale avenues after responding to a shooting report. Colleagues from Kowalski’s Market, where he had worked since his teenage years, mourned his death, with many leaving their shifts early. Tiffany Kurtz, who knew Marshall, stated that his kindness meant he was unlikely to be the intended victim of the attack. Friends gathered at Tailgate Sports Café, a place he frequented, to honor his memory and share stories of his love for music and community.
Megan Prebeg, a studio manager at F45 gym, reflected on how Marshall helped forge strong community bonds through his music. She plans to continue his DJ legacy by setting up his table on Saturdays, ensuring he remains visible in the community. Marshall’s death has left an undeniable void, as many remember him not just as a DJ but as a significant part of their lives.
