Best and most expensive Target Field seats in for 5.25M upgrade
The Minnesota Ballpark Authority approved a $5. 25 million renovation for the Champions Club at Target Field, set to be completed before the 2026 MLB season. This project will enhance the 430-seat luxury section behind home plate by improving concessions, furniture, and flooring, while also creating additional indoor seating. Matthew Hoy, senior operations advisor for the Twins, noted the current lack of seating during rain delays as a significant shortcoming. This renovation is particularly notable as it marks the first time taxpayer funds will be used for improvements to a space not accessible to all fans.
The Twins have invested over $64 million in capital improvements since Target Field's opening in 2010, while the Ballpark Authority contributed an additional $23. 5 million. The Champions Club project aims to keep pace with renovations at other MLB luxury spaces, as at least 11 clubs have made similar upgrades since 2023. Hoy mentioned that Target Field will need further updates in the future, as some technology is original to 2010. Hennepin County officials have sought an extension of a sales tax to support Target Field's upkeep, which was not granted in the latest legislative session.
