My Neighborhood News Network has expanded its board by appointing Diana Oliveros and Forrest Reda, increasing membership from five to seven. Oliveros, a Mexican immigrant and entrepreneur, is the co-founder and COO of Se Habla Media, an independent news outlet serving the Hispanic immigrant community in Washington. She has a notable background in diplomacy and local economic development, previously serving as Consul of Community Outreach at the Consulate of Mexico in Seattle. Reda, a real estate professional, advocates for community interests and chairs the Mountlake Terrace Recreation and Parks Committee. Board Chair Teresa Wippel highlighted their dedication to enhancing civic education and engagement for traditionally underrepresented groups.

The board governs three community news publications in South Snohomish County, including My Edmonds News and MLTnews. The MNNN annual meeting, where the public can meet the new directors, is scheduled for 10 a. m. on June 28 at the Edmonds Library. This meeting marks an opportunity for community members to learn about the organization's transition from a for-profit to a nonprofit entity in 2023.
