‘Right-hand man’ in Snohomish County drug ring sentenced to 10 years

Lynnwood, WALocal News

Humberto Garcia, a 42-year-old resident of Monroe, has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for his involvement in a drug trafficking operation distributing methamphetamine, heroin, and fentanyl throughout the region. In April, a jury found him guilty of conspiracy to distribute controlled substances, concluding a federal investigation that started in early 2020. The investigation was initiated by a confidential informant who provided insights into drug suppliers in Mexico and Washington. Authorities seized around 16,000 fentanyl pills, 30 pounds of meth, and 6 pounds of heroin during their operations. Garcia's involvement included discussions about the lethal consequences of their drugs and planning violent actions against a customer.

Although federal prosecutors sought a 13-year sentence, the judge opted for 10 years, recognizing Garcia's acceptance of responsibility and potential for rehabilitation, while also recommending intensive drug treatment during his incarceration. Garcia was the final defendant among eight associated with the drug ring to be sentenced.
