Lynnwood, WALocal News

Volunteers of America Western Washington will host a fundraiser at WhirlyBall on October 26 from 1:30 to 4 p. m. to support the construction of the Lynnwood Neighborhood Center. The organization aims to raise the final $1 million needed to complete the center debt-free, with all donations matched by a $1 million challenge grant from Rick Steves. The featured activity, WhirlyBall, involves teams of five competing in a game likened to a mix of lacrosse, basketball, and bumper cars.

Tickets are priced at $100 for adults and $50 for children under 16 and include food and soft drinks. Alcoholic beverages will be available for an additional charge. Attendees will have opportunities to win prizes, including those for winning WhirlyBall teams, and participate in a drawing for auctioned items. This fundraiser represents one of the final major fundraising efforts before the center opens to the public. The Lynnwood Neighborhood Center aims to provide valuable community services and resources once completed.
