The 20th annual Halloween Howl took place at the Edmonds off-leash dog park, attracting 27 dogs and their owners despite unfavorable weather conditions. This community event, organized by the Off Leash Area Edmonds (OLAE), successfully raised approximately $1,200 for park maintenance, specifically for new signage at the dog beach. Winners were announced in several categories, with the standout costume being a dog dressed as Where's Waldo, who also won Best in Show. Other category winners included Athena as a police and prisoner duo and Zahra as a cowgirl. Local businesses played a significant role by donating products and services for silent auctions, highlighting community support.

The event has become a cherished tradition since its inception in 2006, fostering a strong sense of community among pet owners. OLAE spokesperson Diane Buckshnis emphasized the importance of such events for local engagement and park upkeep. This year's turnout and fundraising efforts reflect the ongoing commitment of the Edmonds community to support its recreational spaces.
