Day of the Dead celebration returns to Lynnwood Library Nov. 1

The WAGRO Foundation, alongside local partners like the Lynnwood Library and Verdant Health Commission, invites the public to a free Day of the Dead celebration on November 1 from 11:30 a. m. to 4 p. m. at the Lynnwood Library.

This event honors the lives of deceased loved ones through traditional ceremonies and cultural activities. Attendees will experience a traditional Aztec ceremony led by Danza Azteca Yolihuani, followed by music performances from Orquesta Northwest. Families can participate in art workshops, face painting, and the children’s contest “Catrincitas y Catrincitos. ” A Community Altar will serve as a shared space for remembrance, encouraging guests to bring photos or mementos of loved ones. Free tamales, coffee, and pan de muerto will be available, enhancing the festive atmosphere.
