Prep football Undefeated Hawks steamroll Monroe, 48-7

Lynnwood, WALocal News

The Mountlake Terrace Hawks secured a decisive 48-7 victory over the Monroe Bearcats, maintaining their undefeated record at 5-0. Junior running back Owen Boswell led the offense with 106 rushing yards and three touchdowns, while quarterback Mason Wilson added 138 rushing yards and a touchdown. The Hawks scored touchdowns on seven of nine drives, totaling 500 yards of offense. Monroe, struggling this season with a 0-5 record, scored only once despite reaching the red zone four times. Coach Archie Malloy emphasized the importance of this win, as Monroe had defeated Terrace three consecutive times in previous seasons.

He also reflected on his absence from last year's game due to a medical emergency, making this victory even more meaningful. With a record of 3-0 in conference play, the Hawks are tied for first with the Shorewood Stormrays. The two teams will compete for the conference lead on October 10.
