Marine mammalogist Cindy R. Elliser will speak at the Edmonds Waterfront Center on Oct. 9, as part of Annie Crawley’s Environmental Speaker Series. Elliser, who is also the associate director of the Salish Sea Institute, has dedicated over a decade to studying harbor porpoises, the second smallest cetacean. Her groundbreaking research has demonstrated that these animals frequently return to the same waters, with some individuals returning for more than ten years.
