Lynnwood Event Center installed new sign to reflect inclusive venue

Lynnwood, WALocal News

Lynnwood Event Center unveiled new signage on Tuesday, marking its transition from the previous Lynnwood Convention Center name. Executive Director Janet Pope explained that the term "Convention Center" suggested a space for large, exclusive events, which discouraged wider community engagement. Since its opening in 2005, the venue has shifted focus, now featuring numerous public events such as festivals and art exhibits. The rebranding to Lynnwood Event Center aims to reflect its commitment to inclusivity and community involvement. Although the name change was made in December 2022, the installation of permanent signage required significant investment and strategic timing.

Pope mentioned that temporary banners were initially used to promote the new brand while the development of the master plan progressed. The new signage aligns the venue's physical identity with the welcoming, vibrant atmosphere it seeks to project. "We’re really excited to finally have the building reflect the name and identity that people already know us by,” Pope added.
