Lynnwood, WALocal News

Verdant Health approved $6. 5 million for 43 community partners in South Snohomish County to enhance local health and well-being. This funding is $500,000 higher than initially budgeted, driven by increased community needs and a reduction in federal health funding. The majority, $5. 25 million, focuses on child, adolescent, and young adult mental health, as well as direct health care services.

The remaining $1. 25 million addresses food security, domestic violence, and homelessness services. Verdant Board President Karianna Wilson highlighted the pressing need for these programs amid rising demand. Since 2011, Verdant has awarded over $93. 5 million to more than 150 organizations in the region.

Beneficiaries include health clinics, schools, and community organizations, reflecting a diverse approach to local health challenges. These investments aim to create a healthier community for all residents.
