Get fired up at Mountlake Terrace hot sauce festival Aug. 23

Mountlake Terrace will kick off its first Get Sauced! Hot Sauce & More Festival on Saturday, Aug. 23, from 10 a. m. to 4 p.

m. at Town Center Lots and Mountlake Church. The festival will showcase regional hot sauce vendors offering free samples inspired by Asian, Caribbean, and Latin American cuisines. Sarah Frost, founder of Making Local Markets, and Justin Nygard of Double DD Meats spearheaded the event to create a fun community gathering. In addition to hot sauce tastings, families can enjoy food trucks, handmade goods, and a concert by the Mountlake Terrace Jazz Band.

Frost noted, “This is a great way to get people out talking to their neighbors. ” Admission is free, making the event accessible to all ages, including well-behaved leashed dogs. The organizers aim to make this festival an annual tradition that continues to grow. Nygard expressed optimism for the event's future, hoping it will become a beloved local celebration.
