Born in Seattle to British immigrants, he developed a love for the outdoors and an adventurous spirit that defined his youth. Drafted into the US Army during World War II, he excelled as a plane spotter and participated in the liberation of Mauthausen Concentration Camp, an experience that haunted him throughout his life. After returning to Seattle, he attended college on the GI Bill and married Mary Jo, with whom he raised four children. Bevan became a successful businessman in Edmonds, Washington, where he was known for his community involvement and served as a city councilman.

His legacy includes a commitment to public service and a passion for storytelling, with many entertaining tales from his life. He is survived by his wife and children, who remember him as a loving family man. Bevan’s extraordinary journey reflects resilience and community spirit.
