Skull found in Mountlake Terrace gets a facial reconstruction
A reconstruction of a skull found in a Mountlake Terrace home aims to identify a female decedent likely aged 21-65, with possible origins in the white, Hispanic, or mixed-race communities. Medical investigator Jane Jorgensen confirmed the skull, discovered in a bucket during renovations, may date back to as early as 1950. Forensic artist Natalie Murry used advanced techniques to create a facial reconstruction, noting that visual aids can significantly enhance public interest and lead to more tips. The home, located on 46th Avenue West, changed ownership in December 2024. Authorities are actively pursuing a DNA profile for submission to the FBI's CODIS database, which could help identify the remains.
Jorgensen mentioned that there have been no recent records of human remains found in the area. The investigation has generated hundreds of tips, underscoring the public's role in solving such cases. Families of missing persons are encouraged to report cases to law enforcement and consider DNA testing to aid in identification.
