Ten Years Without McNugget

Issaquah, WALocal News

Ten years have passed since the passing of McNugget, the iconic rooster of Issaquah, who delighted residents with his antics. This beloved bird frequented a coffee stand, where locals would bring him food and capture his charming presence in photographs. McNugget met a tragic end in April 2015 when a neighborhood dog fatally injured him, leading to an outpouring of grief from the community. A makeshift memorial of flowers and notes appeared at the coffee shop, showcasing how deeply he connected with the town's residents. Since then, McNugget's spirit has lived on, with stories shared among baristas and customers.

A statue now commemorates his legacy in the parking lot where he once roamed freely. The community reflects on the joy he brought, marking this anniversary as a moment of remembrance. McNugget's unique personality left an indelible mark on Issaquah, reminding locals of the importance of community connection.
