Karen Sharpe, COO of the King County Sexual Assault Resource Center, accepted the proclamation and highlighted the heightened risks faced by marginalized communities. She also provided important resources for survivors, including a 24-hour resource line. The council calls for collective community action to challenge harmful attitudes that perpetuate sexual violence.
