The highway was shut down around 2 a. m. and remained closed for over an hour, impacting traffic between Issaquah-Hobart and Interstate 90. By 3:30 a.

m. , both directions of SR 18 were cleared, allowing vehicles to pass through again. Despite the reopening, the Washington State Patrol advises drivers to proceed with caution, as wintry conditions continue to pose challenges. Trooper Rick Johnson highlighted the necessity for drivers to prepare for snow, suggesting that travelers plan their morning commutes carefully.
