The City of Issaquah is excited to announce its Fourth Annual Call for Young Artists, Authors, and Composers, inviting local youths aged 12-18 to participate in the Young Artists and Authors Showcase (YAAS). This year's theme, "Friendship: The Heartbeat of Global Peace," encourages creativity and artistic expression among the community's youth. Participants can submit original works across various categories, including classic art, digital art, photography, poetry, writing, and music. Each submission must include a statement detailing how the work reflects the theme, and students are limited to one entry each. The deadline for submissions is set for March 5, 2025, at 11:59 p.

m. Local winners will have the opportunity to compete at the national level for recognition through Sister Cities International, with substantial cash prizes available. The Grand Prize in each category is valued at $1,000, followed by second and third place prizes of $500 and $250, respectively.
