Ashwin Suresh, a Westridge resident and Issaquah High School alumnus, has earned a silver Congressional Award, a prestigious recognition for youth aged 14-24. To qualify, Ashwin logged over 200 hours of community service, alongside commitments to personal fitness and development, over a three-year period. The journey was not without its challenges; while managing four AP classes and a job at Target, Ashwin had to reassess his priorities and ultimately let go of some activities to focus on what mattered most. His experience serving food at a local Hindu temple not only fulfilled his service hour requirements but also deepened his connection to his faith and community. Ashwin's hard work and dedication have now led to his acceptance into the University of Southern California, showcasing the impact of his efforts.

This achievement serves as an inspiration for other young individuals in the community to pursue their goals and engage with their surroundings. The Congressional Award is a testament to the importance of personal growth and community service in developing future leaders.
