The "Black Artists of Change" exhibition at Blakely Hall Gallery, running from February 17-28, aims to honor Black History Month by showcasing a diverse collection of 28 works from 13 artists of the Onyx Fine Arts Collective. Robert Horton, a board member and featured artist, emphasizes the exhibition's role in transforming perceptions of American culture through the lens of Black visual arts. A public reception on February 27 invites the community to engage directly with the artists and experience performances from Living Voices, which highlight the often-overlooked contributions of Black women in aviation during World War II. The program "Fly For Freedom" specifically celebrates these contributions, emphasizing themes of resilience and empowerment.
