Call for Youth Artists, Authors and Composers in Issaquah

The City of Issaquah is excited to announce a call for submissions for a national competition aimed at youth artists, authors, and composers, centered around the theme "Friendship: The Heartbeat of Global Peace. " Open to local middle and high school students aged 12 to 18, the competition invites entries across multiple categories including Classic Art, Digital Art, Photography, Poetry, Writing, and Original Music. The submission deadline is set for 11:59 PM on March 5, 2025, allowing ample time for creative exploration. Judges will evaluate entries based on creativity, composition, and the interpretation of the theme, which highlights the significance of friendship in promoting peace globally. Local winners will advance to compete nationally, with substantial monetary prizes available: a Grand Prize of $1,000, a second-place prize of $500, and a third-place prize of $250.

Participants are required to submit a statement explaining how their work reflects the theme, alongside their artistic entries. This competition not only showcases young talent but also fosters a sense of community and understanding among youth in Issaquah.
