Throughout January and mid-February, the Blakely Hall gallery will feature an exhibition showcasing the creativity of local teen artists, culminating in a public reception on January 16 from 6 to 8 p. m. The event invites community members to meet the artists and view their work, which spans various mediums, including ceramics and performative art. Young artists from local schools, including Issaquah High School and Cougar Mountain Middle School, have the chance to present pieces that reflect their personal experiences, emotions, and artistic journeys. For example, Eesha Veng shares her love for music through assorted jewelry and guitar performances, while Tiffany Chan depicts cherished moments through photography.

Other artists, like Aren Yeum and Katherine Mao, express themes of hope and resilience, addressing the challenges faced by teenagers today. The exhibition also encourages the community to purchase select artworks, further supporting young talent. By providing this platform for artistic expression, the showcase aims to foster connections within the community and inspire future generations of creatives. Such initiatives play a vital role in nurturing the cultural landscape of Issaquah.
