A Poetic Tribute to Nature View Norman Elders Gallery at Blakely Hall

Issaquah, WALocal News

Norman Elder, an esteemed Issaquah artist with nearly six decades of experience, presents his latest exhibition at Blakely Hall titled 'Sweetheart, There Are Gardens Only We Can Know,' open throughout November and December 2024. This showcase features large-scale acrylic paintings inspired by the natural beauty surrounding his home on Tiger Mountain, capturing the essence of nature through moments of sunlight, shadows, and the gentle sway of trees and flowers. The exhibition's theme is deeply personal, sparked by a heartfelt request from his wife, Erica, to create something horticultural. The public is invited to a reception on November 10 to meet Elder and explore the stories behind his creations. He emphasizes craftsmanship as a pathway to freedom and discovery, with each painting serving as a narrative that invites viewers to appreciate nature's beauty while connecting with the artist's personal journey.

This exhibition not only highlights Elder's artistic talent but also fosters community engagement and appreciation for the natural world.
