Level Up Your Skills: Staff Code Offers Free Game Development Course

Issaquah, WALocal News

Staff Code, a nonprofit established by local high school students Berkan and Aditya, is launching a free game development course to teach coding skills using Python. The course will take place at Blakely Hall over four weeks, starting May 28 and culminating in a showcase on June 25. Open to students from late elementary to high school, the initiative aims to create an inclusive learning environment where students can explore programming without financial barriers. Each session will include hands-on projects and provide students with supplementary materials, such as reference sheets and instructional videos, to support their learning. Berkan and Aditya emphasize their intent to foster a welcoming space for exploration and creativity in coding.

As the nonprofit grows, they envision expanding course offerings and hosting events like hack-a-thons to further engage the community. This initiative enriches the local educational landscape and empowers young learners to build confidence in their coding skills, inspiring the next generation of developers in the Issaquah Highlands area.
