Issaquah, WALocal News

The 'Expressions of Winter' art exhibition at Blakely Hall opens its doors to the community, featuring the works of over 25 local artists exploring their unique interpretations of winter. Running throughout January and February 2024, this exhibition marks the first collaborative event curated by the Highlands Council. Featured artists include Issaquah Highlands resident Katie Weaver, who presents her captivating series 'Winter Evergreens,' showcasing vibrant acrylic paintings of serene forest scenes. Artist Diane Sarr offers a thought-provoking perspective with her mixed media landscapes, incorporating maps to reflect on human impact on nature. The exhibition not only highlights artistic talent but also encourages discussions about climate change and environmental responsibility.

A special reception on January 27th invites families to meet the artists, enjoy light refreshments, and engage in creative activities. This event is vital for fostering community connections and celebrating local art, serving as a warm reminder of the beauty and complexity of the winter season through the eyes of its artists.
