The Issaquah Highlands community is gearing up for two significant events designed to promote engagement and preparedness among residents. The first is a community-wide garage sale set for September 21, allowing neighbors to sell unwanted items and encouraging social interaction. This garage sale is a cherished tradition in the area, occurring only twice a year, making it a highly anticipated event. The second event is an emergency preparation workshop scheduled for September 28, focusing on essential skills needed to prepare households for unexpected disasters. Hosted at Blakely Hall, the workshop will cover vital topics such as effective communication strategies, necessary supplies to have on hand, and how to access local resources during emergencies.

Organized by the Highlands Council, these events highlight the community's focus on fostering connections among residents while also enhancing their readiness for potential crises. With these initiatives, Issaquah Highlands aims to create a more connected and resilient neighborhood. Residents are encouraged to participate and take advantage of the opportunity to learn and engage with their community.
