Help Issaquah Plan for Emergencies

Issaquah, WALocal News

In an effort to bolster emergency preparedness, the City of Issaquah is undertaking a comprehensive evacuation study. This initiative is designed to assess the time required to evacuate residents during critical situations, including wildfires and other emergencies. By gathering data on evacuation logistics, the city seeks to improve its emergency response capabilities and ensure the safety of all residents. A survey has been launched to collect insights from the community, encouraging participation from those who live, work, and play in Issaquah. The city underscores that understanding community perspectives is vital for developing effective evacuation plans.

Additionally, the city is offering Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training, which equips individuals with essential skills to assist during emergencies. While the fall CERT class is currently full, residents are encouraged to register for a waitlist. This proactive approach aims to foster a well-prepared community capable of responding to emergencies effectively.
