Issaquah is hosting its first Open Studio Tour on September 7, where ten local artists will showcase their work by opening their home studios to the public. Organized by Ali Marcus of Happy Time Studio, the event is designed to foster connections between artists and the community. Visitors will have the opportunity to experience a variety of art types and learn about the creative processes of the participating artists. Among the featured artists is Katie Weaver, an acrylic painter who will provide hands-on activities such as stamping notecards. John Riziki, a singer-songwriter, will perform on his porch during the tour, inviting attendees to enjoy his music.

Other artists on the tour include woodturner David Lutrick, storyteller Divya Rajan, and glass and sculpture artist Linda Schnell. Attendees who visit at least five studios will receive secret codes for a raffle, with a chance to win a $500 prize to support their own artistic pursuits. The event promises to be an enriching experience for both art enthusiasts and creators in the Issaquah community.
