Issaquah Partners with PSE to Boost Green Power Program Participation

Issaquah, WALocal News

Puget Sound Energy (PSE) and the City of Issaquah are collaborating to promote the Green Power program, which aims to match electricity use with renewable energy sources like wind and solar. This partnership is part of a broader commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship in the Issaquah community. The Empower Issaquah challenge seeks to enroll 300 new residents and businesses by April 2025, which will help reduce carbon emissions and support the city's Climate Action Plan. As an incentive, PSE will contribute $15,000 toward a new solar array in Issaquah if the enrollment goal is met. City Sustainability Manager Stacy Vynne McKinstry highlights the significance of community involvement in preserving natural resources.

Joining the program offers multiple benefits, including decreased reliance on fossil fuels and a cleaner environment for future generations. Participation starts at an affordable rate of $4 per month, making it easy for individuals to join. Residents are encouraged to enroll and to invite friends and family to contribute to a sustainable energy future.
