Highwood Reservoirs Retrofit Project

Issaquah, WALocal News

The City has completed work on one of the two steel tanks at the Highwood reservoir, with the second tank's progress halted until April 2026 due to hazardous winter conditions. The retrofit project aims to enhance the reservoirs, including security and electrical upgrades, expected to finish by Fall 2025. Residents should prepare for construction traffic around Mountainside Dr SW and Idylwood Dr SW as work continues. Built in 1967, the Highwood Reservoirs are crucial for local water storage and require upgrades after their last recoating in 1997. The project will also address safety features amid concerns about access for large equipment during winter months.

City officials emphasize the importance of completing the work during favorable weather conditions for painting. Questions can be directed to Public Works Engineer Tony Nguyen for further details. The City aims to minimize disruptions while enhancing community infrastructure.
