From A Pizza Heist to Thefts A Busy Week for Issaquah Police

Issaquah, WALocal News

On October 23, 2025, Issaquah police arrested two suspects involved in separate theft incidents. At a Target store, a shoplifter attempted to steal home décor items valued at $509, engaging in “skip-scanning” to evade payment. Store security detained the suspect before police arrived, leading to an arrest after the suspect offered to pay for the items, which did not mitigate the theft charge. In a separate incident later that evening, officers pursued a man who stole pizza and fled on foot. The chase ended when the suspect hid in a restroom at a nearby restaurant, where he was soon arrested.

He was confirmed by restaurant staff as the thief and charged with Theft in the Third Degree and Obstructing a Law Enforcement Officer. These incidents highlight the challenges local law enforcement faces in combating retail theft, prompting increased police presence in commercial areas. The Issaquah Police Department continues to prioritize community safety and retail security.
