Strings of Change Renews Instruments

Issaquah, WALocal News

The "Strings of Change" exhibit features local artists who transformed damaged cellos and violins into stunning art pieces following last November's bomb cyclone. This initiative, led by Hammond Ashley Violins and the Downtown Issaquah Association, reflects the community's resilience and creativity in the face of adversity. Bryce Van Parys, General Manager of Hammond Ashley, noted the importance of repurposing the instruments for an organization dedicated to the arts. The exhibition, extended through November 8 at the Historic Shell Station, showcases the artistic talents of individuals like Gail Baker and Priyanka Parmanand. "This exhibition is about transformation—taking something broken and turning it into something beautiful," said DIA Art Liaison Ekta Gupta.

The project highlights the collaboration between local artists and organizations to support the arts. The exhibit hours are Fridays from 3:30-7:30 p. m. , Saturdays from 11 a. m.

– 3 p. m. , and Sunday, Nov. 2, from 11 a. m.

-2 p. m. For more information, interested individuals can email events@downtownissaquah. com.
