Newport Way Corridor Project Aims to Enhance Local Infrastructure

Issaquah, WALocal News

The Newport Way corridor project aims to enhance pedestrian, bicycle, and vehicle access while accommodating future traffic demands. Adopted by the City Council in December 2017, the design incorporates community feedback and engineering analysis. The City completed preliminary designs and plans for the corridor, with construction of Phase 1 scheduled for 2027, contingent on grant funding. A Value Engineering Study suggested removing costly features to save on construction expenses and reduce tree removal. Phase 2 and Phase 3 will extend the improvements further down Newport Way, with tentative completion dates in 2029 and 2032, respectively.

The project seeks to preserve the corridor's character while implementing continuous improvements. The community can stay informed about project updates by subscribing to the City’s Notify Me tool.
